The Mission of the G Baby Project
To create a transformational environment for at risk youth. Our programs guide youth in discovering their inner wisdom by empowering them with the business tools needed to bring their unique talents to the world. Global Peace Train uses G Baby, to facilitate their journey into the world of creativity, social engagement, and personal expression in the business world. Check out the details of this project here.
G Baby walkin' to L.A. to meet with the film crew that will make his skills known to the world! |
A wave comes along and surprises the Baby! Keep movin' G Baby! You will make it, even if it seems impossible! |
The methods Global Peace Train employs are outrageous. Through storytelling, video, music, and other forms of media popular in action research, we ask people to converse with a plastic doll, named G Baby. Through relating to G Baby, the inner wisdom of the youth is uncovered by shaking the foundations of self perceptions. Many of the gang member participants at first are confused and say things like “Really? Why do you want me to talk to a plastic doll?” G Baby breaks down participants expectations of themselves, and the world around them. Global Peace Train uses G Baby to bring humor and lightness to the difficult life stories of the youth, by transforming their perceptions into new, creative media that facilitates the telling of these stories to the greater community.
Though the development of an independent for profit company the youth learn about branding, raising capital, marketing, business strategy, legal compliance, and building a business step by step. We engage the youth’s passion and cooperation by starting with their love of music; in which G Baby is an active participant, an aspiring Rap star. The G Baby project empowers youth to work together, educate them and give back to the community through their newfound skills, and transformed perspectives.
